Papaya is a small, sparsely branched tree, usually with a single stem, growing 5 to 10 metres tall, with leaves arranged in a spiral.

Papaya is a tropical fruit rich in vitamins C and A, as well as fibre and healthy plant compounds. It also contains an enzyme called papaya, which helps the body to break down proteins more quickly. This enzyme also helps relieve sore throats and is often used as a remedy for bloating.
